This is my first podcast. It will be the first of many to come. In this podcast I talk about online start-ups and hosting in South Africa.
3 Points for Online Start-ups in SA
- Learn from overseas start-ups and research local competition.
- Get the site/service up and running as soon as possible.
- Market the site, go offline to get people online.
Update:
Added an intro and background music. A very special thanks goes to Gregor Rohrig (Groogle) for the amazing intro and background music. He is a legend. Rohrig Producshizzle!

Congrats on your first podcast. Good to hear some passion making it’s way online in other forms.
Yeah cool to hear a podcast from you, I think what you need is a partner in crime to throw ideas around with. Get a discussion going, use it, don’t use it – I’m just saying.
Very nicely done Tyler. You’ve got a great voice for podcasting, so keep it up!
Gino: Thanks a lot.
Wezzo: Thanks for the advice, all I can say is, watch this space.
Hash: Thanks a lot, makes me blush.
Yeah dude… All of that. Kiff content, awesome theme song. Nice pace. Looking forward to the next one!!! Rock on Tyler!
Well done Tyler, I really enjoyed listening to this and I look forward to your future podcasts! Loved the spacey-funky music in the intro too! Well done to you to Gregor. You make a great point too about learning from the experience of overseas sites.
Nice one T! Two suggestions: 1. allowing readers to subscribe to a feed for the podcasts, and 2. as Wezzo mentions too, creating some dialogue to create some discussion. Otherwise, happy podcasting
Dave: Thanks, will try keep it up.
Neville: Thanks a lot, yeah Gregor is a legend.
Gregor: I will hook up a feed for it asap and no. 2, don’t stress, big things coming very soon. Thanks again for your help, you rock!
Lower the bitrate – making the mp3 smaller, that way you can squeeze in some content. All the concepts spoken about were all very vague.
Cool dude, nice to see another one entering the scene….about to download and listen now, but checking if I may have missed some sort of subscribe button, perhaps iTunes or any other feed for the actual files…
Happy podcasting.
Hey Hey bra! haha this podcast was well done! good job
Cheers
The Rushmugsta!!
Awesome one Tyler.
Short and shweet! Great podcast, enjoyed listening.
Yay! A short and to the point podcast. Well done. I like the comment about marketing your business offline. It’s so obvious, but often people, mostly us techies, focus soo much on SEO and e-marketing and forget the rest of the marketing strategy.
Aquila: Working on the podcast feed and all the other bells and whistles.
Rushil: You know how it is.
Rafiq: Thanks a lot mate!
Chris: Thanks.
Miguel: Thanks
Sometimes people just need reminding of the simple things.
Well done on your first podcast.
When will your next one be ready for download?
Hey Tyler
Great podcast dude, and may I say you chose a good theme for your first episode. You can add me to your fan club for future releases.
Lets hope some of the larger startups in SA were taking notes ;-P
Anyway keep up the good work, looking forward to your next show.
